Whitney Elizabeth Houston is a singer from Newark New Jersey on the 9th August 1963. Her parents are gospel superstars Cissy Houston(n e Emily Lee Drinkard), and John Russell Houston Jr. Whitney's cousin Dionne warwick is also a singer. A number of hit singles, such as the hit songs Saving All My Love For You How Do I know That You Love Me and The Most Beautiful Love of All were released on the album. They set her up for a Beatles-beating seven consecutive US number ones. Album was sold out in US 3,000,000 copies and then reached 25,000,000 copies world-wide. This gave her the first of her six Grammy Awards. The album that followed it in 1987 Whitney featuring the hit songs What Do Broken Hearts Go and I Wanna Dance With Somebody built on her success but it was the 1992 film The Bodyguard (1992) that established her as one of the top-selling performers of all time. While the movie and the performances of the actress were not highly praised, the soundtrack album featuring her rendition of Dolly Parton's I Will Always Love You was her top album and single for a number of months. The album sold over 44 million copies across the globe. That same year she married former New Edition star Bobby Brown with whom she has a single daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown in March 1993.
