Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic artist, performer and composer. The singer combines jazz from the soul genre with R&B to create a unique mix. From Broadway to European festival and clubs, the singer has done work across the globe. Sunshine Her real name is Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta, she originates from Chester Pennsylvania where she began the musical path by singing as well as playing the piano at church. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she began her training in the city's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The single which featured her vocals Stalk You the House, came out only in Japan. The song has been remixed many times, and it is a mainstay of her live show. Additionally, she was a part of The Fighting Temptations soundtrack. The band was hired as the main keyboardist of Tyler Perry's play Meet the Browns in 2005. In 2007 Grammy and Tony Award-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out to be the director of choral for the stage production of Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine was recognized nationally through her performances on four consecutive days during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She was then invited to perform during President Obama's 2009 inauguration.
