Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz - was born at Winona Minnesota. The parents of Winona Ryder gave her the name of the town she grew up in. Michel Horowitz' father was an editor and writer and editor, as was Cynthia Palmer and her mother. Ryder's father was from a Jewish family Ryder considers herself Jewish. Ryder has two half-siblings younger than her, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's parents moved her along with their children to Mendocino County California when Ryder was seven years old. In those days, there wasn't electricity. Ryder was a prolific reader because of the lack of television. Ryder began to take acting classes in the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983 aged twelve years old. Lucas the film, which was released in 1986, was her first major role. Ryder was just fifteen when she landed the role. Ryder was bullied in the high school. Her acting career, she hoped to help, could have helped her. Unfortunately, it didn't work out. She continued to pursue her ambitions. In 1988, she received her big break in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder continued to play successful roles in several movies. In 1993, she was nominated twice for Academy Awards. One of the nominations was for her part in The Age of Innocence.
